Kiki Valdes

Amazing artist and friend Kiki Valdes was being filmed by a local TV station yesterday, so he had me drop by his studio and snap some flicks. It's crazy to see how much his art has evolved through the years - his new technique of layering pieces of canvas and the texture in his work is incredible. I was pretty much like a kid in a candy store.

Oh yeah, if you're around 7th St and 2nd Ave look up and you will see a HUGE mural by Kiki on the side of a building. It has to be a great feeling to see your work on such a huge scale, congrats!

They had him paint on a piece of plexiglas and filmed through it to make it look as if he was painting on the lens of the camera.
